5K a year The Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant in the Fire and Emergency Services Department.
This position is to serve as administrative assistant to the department director which involves performing skilled and varied secretarial administrative duties requiring knowledge of department operations and county administrative policies and procedures.
The following duties are normal for this position.
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Provides customer service; answers phones, greets and interacts with the public in a professional courteous manner and maintains positive working relationships with department members.
Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Assists Chiefs with budget planning, preparation and reconciling.
Maintains administrative files; track personnel action data such as disciplinary action and promotions.
Within our department as well as Human Resources.
Assists in the development of policy, directives, and administrative standard operation procedures; maintains department policy, directive and office manuals.
Prepares presentation documents, correspondence, reports; conducts research and compiles data for administrative analysis.
Word Processing, data base, presentation, accounting, and photo editing and desk top publishing applications.
Effectively organizes office environment and filing system.
Manages a variety of special projects under the direction of the Fire Chief and Department Chiefs.
Keeps records of all receipts for accounts payable, scanning and keeping copies.
Entering charges for requisitions and purchases orders.
Ordering all office supplies and station supplies, reviewing individual station request and working directly with the Supply Officer/Quarter Master.
Maintains confidentiality of department information as well as patient information, and incident information.
Handles all billing requests from insurance companies as well as legal entities requesting billing information and incident / accident information.
Communicates directly with the billing company in regard to information sent and requested.
Reviews monthly reports for billing issues, collections and write offs.
Maintaining schedule of Department Chiefs, as well as events scheduled in the EOC / classroom.
Registers and books hotel stays for Chiefs and all officers for conferences as well as any other event required.
Works independently and prioritizes work based on importance while multi-tasking to accomplish objectives.
Attends and schedules meetings along with agendas, reserve space and coordinates attendees, etc.
Punctuality and attendance are essential.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; two years of experience in related clerical, secretarial or administrative work required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
